Valmont Industries, Inc., a leading global provider of engineered products and services for infrastructure development and irrigation equipment and services for agriculture, has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant in the accounting department.  This position supports the accounting and financial reporting functions for two sites in concert with Divisional and Corporate accounting policies and procedures.  The position supports the accounting, reporting and analysis for the Brenham and Bellville manufacturing plants, including inventory valuation and control, shop variance analysis, financial/management reporting and closing activities.   Essential Functions Analyze periodic manufacturing variances including purchase cost, material usage and overhead variances. Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the inventory cycle count programs and activities. Prepare accurate, timely financial reports using Excel and Hyperion that compare and analyze current results with budgeted results and future forecast. Effectively communicate the results of the cost analysis performed with reliable conclusions that management can use to implement more effective operational strategies. Assist with cost and inventory report generation for operations management. Work with the site personnel to gather data and explanations to support spend and productivity analysis. Complete and summarize weekly forecast updates. Demonstrated ability to effectively analyze standard to actual cost information. Maintain appropriate professional competencies, certifications, licenses, etc., necessary to perform job. Other Important Details about the Role Reporting to the Brenham/Bellville Site Controller, this position is responsible for supporting the review and analysis of financial performance of the Brenham and Bellville sites.   This includes the completion of reports, charts and diagrams that provide a basis for comparison and evaluation.  This position is also responsible for providing ad hoc analysis to support financial forecasts, internal management reporting, benchmarking and monitoring of key cost indicators.  The person in this role will work closely with the site personnel to understand and explain performance variances and trends. Other responsibilities include timely and accurate completion of the monthly book close process and the weekly forecasts. Required Qualifications of Every Candidate Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills Experience in cost accounting and inventory reporting and analysis General ledger accounting experience including account reconciliations, journal entries, and a basic understanding of internal controls Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting or MBA or other advanced degree Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor Experience in a manufacturing environment Working knowledge of IFS (accounting software) Very strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills R4447

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
